JOURNEY | collection by Jörn Fröhlich with eco print designs by Dilek Himam
Sustainable fashion collection inspired by Joseph Beuys from upcycled bedlinen and industrial felt.
"The “Tatar legend” has become famous, according to which Beuys fell over the Crimea in March 1944, was critically injured and was nursed by the Tatars.
When asked, he confirmed that his work with felt and fat was inspired by the Tatars. They supposedly nursed him back to health with these materials.
His affinity to Nordic mythology, runes, alchemy and shamanism is also based on this experience (true or not)."
The “JOURNEY” collection is inspired by Beuys’ use of felt, enriched with natural colors and decors by textile artist Dilek Himam. The flat pattern of the wrap tops is derived from the Futhark rune “R”, which means “journey, travel”.
