2016/17 fashion loves art

The graduation collections of 2016/17 aim to create an awareness of the limitless inspirations that 20th century art holds for any fashion designer. Art and fashion reflect all the dynamic changes in the world. Each in its own expressive ways. Instead of referring to the differences between art and fashion the graduation project tackles their similarities without prejudice.

During the first semester conceptual creativity was set into focus as the students investigated an artist or art-period of the 20th century and turned their research into an experimental couture collection of four show pieces.

The second semester represents a commercial approach to fashion where the students developped their research into a ready-to-wear collection considering a specific market segment, style, season and target group.
